Singh is King!

The results of the Indian elections are out and as expected the Congress has won.

Most people are relieved as this means current Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (aka SMS / Sardar Manmohan Singh) will be PM again for a second term, the only other PM besides Nehru to have achieved this feat.

When I first saw the footage of SMS videos being played on news channels with the 'Singh is King' song in the background, I thought it was quite cheesy and clichéd. But I've got to admit the phrase does have a nice ring to it especially since our king in question (SMS) does not have any king-ish airs about him.

He's king indeed...

The Great Indian Election Circus!

The Great Indian Elections of 2009 are about to come to a close and the results will be out soon.

Everyone is waiting to find out who will make it to the PM's post!

Meanwhile, I was inspired to create these toons about the whole election scenario...

Vote Nobody!

Here is one voting option which I didn't mention in my previous cartoon about Indian elections...

Many people may not agree with this as they feel that votes are precious and must not be wasted. However, if you can't decide on the lesser evil from amongst all the candidates (It all boils down to that doesn't it?) just take the easy way out and vote for nobody!

As per Rule 49-O of the Conduct of Elections Rules of India, voters are actually entitled to avail this option!

A universal phenomenon!

A recent blog post by Bilbo talks about a universal phenomenon, the 'blame game' with respect to politics. Everybody blames somebody else. Bilbo suggests that we tackle this by voting for the perfect candidate...'nobody!'

I couldn't agree more!
