Hy-PL

Many people feel that the Indian Premier League is more hype and less cricket. I personally enjoy the matches, but think we could've done without most of the frills and fuss!

On toothpaste

Toothpaste is important!

Regular use keeps teeth in good condition and helps you save on visits to the dentist.

For as Ogden Nash would say:

"Because some tortures are physical and some are mental,
But the one that is both is dental."

Vote Nobody!

Here is one voting option which I didn't mention in my previous cartoon about Indian elections...

Many people may not agree with this as they feel that votes are precious and must not be wasted. However, if you can't decide on the lesser evil from amongst all the candidates (It all boils down to that doesn't it?) just take the easy way out and vote for nobody!

As per Rule 49-O of the Conduct of Elections Rules of India, voters are actually entitled to avail this option!

De-voted to politics!

As the Indian elections begins, I've been thinking of who to give my 'precious' vote to. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to come to any conclusions because...

More shoe bites!

BJP Leader LK Advani was the recipient of yet another shoe attack today.

This incident comes just two days after police asked Advani supporters to remove their shoes to meet him.

If things continue this way, we will soon have permanent security policies in place to prevent such shoe-throwing protestors...

As shoe throwing becomes more popular...

Shoe throwing seems to become more popular by the day. Another shoe was thrown today, this time at Congress MP Naveen Jindal.

Wonder what the shoes feel about being
indiscriminately hurled like this?

And then there is the aspect about the shoe-throwers being rewarded...

Looks like a new form of protest has emerged, one that cannot easily be shoe-d away!

Creation of Man

A brilliant cartoon by aMoeba about the creation of man...

If you can't sue them, shoe them???

Boot attack on Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram, in similar fashion as the original boot attack on US President George Bush

In this case however, the journalist responsible for throwing the boot / shoe received a job offer and 2 lakhs 'bravery' cash reward from the Akali Dal, another political party!

Shoe throwing is certainly becoming a popular mode of protest among journalists.

So if you can't sue them, you'll shoe them???

Fasting Feasting!

Its Navratri fasting time again!

I usually 'fast' on the last Navratra not purely because of religious reasons but also because this fast is more like a feast.

Happy Navratras and Happy Ram Navami!

Toons about work

The following work-related cartoons are inspired by personal experiences at my last job where I worked for almost 7 years.

Do any of these toons relate to your (past or current) workplace or job too? If so, do share your experience by leaving me a comment, I'd love to read about it!

Meera

P.S. If you liked the cartoons in this post, you might also want to read
'Work-life balance', 'That time of the year!' and 'A hard work week!' as well.

More Parenting fun!

In an earlier post about parenting, I missed out on publishing these toons...
